A couple of times at
Customs when I’ve declared that I was bringing back DVDs from the States they
somehow got it into their heads that I might be bringing back porn. I think
once I was allowed to show them right at the counter, but a later time I got
screened out and had to wait until a more thorough search was done. No porn on any occasions but the first time
this issue came up, a couple of the slasher flick Jason Goes to Hell was in my
bag. It wasn’t commented upon. I thought
that was an interesting comment on society.
Movies were people were having sex was an issue but movies where people
were being hacked up was okay. Though I
suppose to be fair, in porn movies the sex is real and happily no one dies for
real in any slasher movies, only fictional characters. I like to think that’s the reason and not because
sex is more taboo than killing.

Sadly, it's probably because society does think that sex is more taboo than killing...
